Fundamentals of Fieldbus Technology Seminar

Fieldbus technology allows end users to choose interoperable control products from their suppliers of choice and the capability to integrate control systems, subsystems and devices across the plant enterprise. The result is improved plant performance and greater business results.

This completely redesigned training seminar teaches the basic principles, advantages and benefits of fieldbus technology and segment design. Using practical examples, students will learn how to effectively construct FOUNDATION Fieldbus and Profibus PA segments. The design, configuration and parameterization of a fieldbus segment are demonstrated using a hands-on approach.

At the conclusion of this course, attendees should be able to:

• Understand the basic rules and operation criteria necessary to design a fieldbus segment
• Properly install a fieldbus network and understand the importance of the physical layer attributes
• Recognize the differences, similarities and limitations of Foundation fieldbus and PROFIBUS PA.
